History
Stott + Hoare was established in 1915 to supply office products and stationery to businesses and government organisations in Australia. As office technology evolved from typewriters and ledger machines to computers and data storage systems, the company's product range changed to meet new customer demands and the business grew substantially. Leading global manufacturers of information technology engaged Stott + Hoare to sell and service their products in the local marketplace.
By 1982 Stott + Hoare had recognised the growing demand for desktop computers and became an inaugural IBM Personal Computer Dealer. Relationships with Microsoft and other leading computer product manufacturers including HP soon developed. By the late 1980's the company was selling and supporting thousands of PCs, network servers and disk storage systems. Customers ranged from large corporations and government departments with thousands of employees to medium size and small businesses requiring complete IT solutions.
Today Stott + Hoare remains focused on the servers, storage systems, desktops, laptops and the IT services needs of many large corporate and government organisations, and many more medium and small businesses. The company employs twenty five people and operates from its Distribution and Service Centre in Osborne Park. In 2004 Stott + Hoare formed L7 Solutions, now employing over one hundred staff, to address a wider segment of the market and assist clients analyse, plan, build and manage their IT infrastructures. Most customers are Western Australian based although there is growing demand from some larger national companies and federal government departments that can be reached through a network of business partners and trusted service providers across Australia.
