New Recruit – Servers + Storage + VMware Technical Specialist

At a time when Server Virtualisation and Storage Networks are high on everyone's agenda, Stott + Hoare has increased its technical resource in this area by recruiting an additional IT Architect.  With recent experience in a data centre environment operating 150 servers, blade enclosures and network storage systems, Michael Severn is well placed to assist our customers in planning and implementing virtualised server and storage solutions. 

Michael's hands-on experience with the latest server and storage technology, along with his ability to implement and support VMware, will be invaluable assets for our customers, providing further encouragement to retain Stott + Hoare as their preferred IT partner.

As part of its superior server virtualisation capability, VMware delivers innovative and effective Disaster Recovery solutions.  Michael has specific experience installing VMware Virtual Machine Replication for this purpose and can explain how to achieve the best results.

Back-up and recovery using tape libraries is another skill Michael has developed since he commenced his career in IT in 1990.  We expect customers will consult Michael when considering the hardware and software required when selecting compliant back-up systems ensuring the most appropriate products are installed.

Michael has operated network server monitoring software for fault diagnosis and firmware upgrades which is a useful skill for customers wishing to compare HP Insight Systems Manager with IBM Director and other similar tools.  His experience also includes data migration to SAN storage and off-site replication.

Michael's technical skills are complemented by his ability to prepare complex system configuration and scope of works documents ensuring successful project outcomes for our customers.  His impressive professional training qualifications include multiple VMware, HP, IBM, Sun, Microsoft, NetApp, Unix and Project Management accreditations.

Stott + Hoare will provide an ongoing technical training programme for Michael and our Technical Services Team.
